Hiraeth - Paper Clay Hare Sculpture

Hiraeth is a Welsh word for a deep longing or homesickness — not just for a place, but for a feeling, a time, or something lost.

It is a sadness for things that can’t be returned to, mixed with the hope that they are never completely gone.

This hare, made from paper clay and finished with natural tones, holds a quiet sense of that feeling — pausing, reflecting, and carrying a little piece of old memories within it.

Made from paper clay, sculpted on top of a wire a foil armature. The hare is finished with acrylics and a little oil paint, sealed with a Matt varnish a wax.
